The spit roast outing held at Peter
Young’s place at Somersby on 28/8/10 was a novelty for many of us. The
day began with Peter and Anthony setting up the pork and steak roast
for us on the rack early in the morning. Gary Yeung and his
wife Hedwig did the last minute shopping for beer, beverages, dessert,
fruit and ingredients for the salad, and got there at 11am to
prepare afresh for the potato salad and the green salad. Gary had
also prepared some indoor and outdoor gaming activities for the day.
The rest of the group turned up from
11.45am . The roast was superbly prepared by Ken and Lisa, friends of Peter
Young who came to give us a helping hand with the roast. After lunch, we went
to an Orchard farm at the Mangrove Mountain to pick our own oranges. We went
back to Peter’s place for a quick briefing of Chinese herbal medicine from
Anthony before we went out together for light supper in a local Chinese
restaurant at Wyoming .
Thanks again to Peter Young who not
only welcome us to his house on that day but also sponsored the spit roast.
$330 was collected for the day and after deducting for the expense incurred,
$160 would be reverted to Sloba’s administration fund for future function.
Thanks also to all those that come along. |
